What Is a New Construction or Renovation Consultation?

It's a building biology review of your plans, materials, and systems, tailored to your project and your family's goals. We work alongside you, your architect, and your builder at whatever stage you're in. Every consultation is led by Jonathan Farrar, CRMI, Building Biologist.

Site Evaluation
Before you build, we can measure existing EMF sources on the property, such as power lines, transformers, and nearby cell towers, to help guide where the home and bedrooms are placed.

Moisture and Building Envelope
We review vapor control, waterproofing, drainage, insulation, and areas prone to condensation or leaks, since preventing moisture problems during construction is the most effective way to avoid mold later.

Materials and Finishes
We help you choose lower VOC paints, finishes, flooring, cabinetry, adhesives, and insulation, and flag products likely to off gas after installation.

Ventilation and HVAC
We review system sizing, duct layout, fresh air supply, filtration, and pressure relationships so your home breathes well and stays comfortable.

Electrical and EMF Planning
We review panel placement, bedroom wiring layout, router and smart device locations, and magnetic field sources, with shielding recommended only when needed.

Lighting and Water
We help you plan healthier lighting choices and water filtration for the whole home or specific points of use.
