Who we are

Jonathan Farrar is an environmental consultant, Certified Residential Mold Inspector (CRMI through ACAC), and Building Biologist. His work was born not from textbooks alone, but from lived experience.

Several years ago, Jonathan became severely ill and was ultimately diagnosed with Lyme, mold toxicity, and several co-infections. He searched tirelessly for answers, with little success. He and his family ultimately relocated to Tennessee seeking a fresh start, only to discover significant mold contamination in their new home — an experience that led to his entire family becoming sick.

Already dealing with the effects of toxic burden overload and other environmental stressors, it became a breaking point. Doctors and conventional inspections offered few answers, and his concerns were often dismissed, while his spouse and young children continued to decline. That season of desperation became a turning point, igniting Jonathan’s mission to uncover the hidden factors in our homes and environments that can profoundly impact wellbeing.

Since then, Jonathan has pursued rigorous training through the Building Biology Institute, completing coursework and seminars in EMF/EMR, indoor air quality, mold and moisture, and healthier building materials, both in-person and online. He has also gained extensive hands-on experience supporting families facing mold and moisture problems, EMF exposure, poor indoor air quality, and water concerns, as well as guiding new construction and renovation projects to help ensure healthier building practices from the start.

Jonathan’s work has helped many clients who were told “nothing is wrong” by conventional routes, yet continued to struggle with fatigue, insomnia, unexplained symptoms, and chronic illness. His approach is compassionate and science-based, grounded in detailed investigation, clear communication, and practical next steps that empower families to move from overwhelm to a plan.

Looking ahead, Jonathan’s vision goes beyond individual homes. He’s passionate about improving the health of schools, churches, workplaces, and all indoor environments, working toward a future where sick buildings are no longer the norm. As he often says: “A healthy indoor environment is a basic human right, not a luxury.”

At the heart of it all is Jonathan’s family. His wife and children are his why, reminding him daily that safe environments matter. Outside of consulting, he finds balance in nature, sunshine, and music. Once a touring musician, Jonathan still writes and plays, but his clearest calling now is helping families reclaim their health by creating spaces that support healing rather than harm.
